The narration is absurd for a novel translated from French. Dialogue by each character is spoken in a heavy accent to match the characters' mother tongues: French, German, Spanish. Dialogue from French-speaking Swiss and French characters sounds like the Pink Panther's Inspector Clouseau. Embarrassing, and as this comprises the near entirety of the text, impossible to listen to.
