A sharp comedy centered on a group of 20-something New Yorkers struggling to figure out themselves, their lives, and their loves. Captures the uncertainty and angst of what it is to be young, vulnerable, and desperate to find out who you are - or, perhaps more importantly, who you want to be

*LOVE* this movie! Yes, it may be filled with platitudes about life, but we needed to be reminded of the ages and stages of life. "With gratitude the universe is eternally abundant." Happy THANK YOU More Please! Charlie's quote about LA is true about any town: "... the whole town is like this blank canvas, and whatever you bring to it, that's what it is. It's just this random collection of neighbourhoods where it's always sunny and it basically reflects where ever you're at back at you. So if you're happy, L.A. is great. If you're not, L.A. sucks. But it has nothing to do with Los Angeles." You might find YOUR joy in this movie!

Mostly upbeat movie re: 20-somethings who do have jobs and decent apartments as they run the gamut of romantic relationships. Not deeply engrossing but not boring, either. There's an interesting subplot with a runaway foster child.

Awful movie- it's laughably bad.

A bit too predictable in its writing and its' directing. Without the 29 year-old main protagonist's recurring "sense of duty", one's disbelief would need to be suspended, otherwise 2/3 of the movie would not happen.
Sharp comedy? Not to me.

agreed...excellent cast and script. I was engaged from beginning to end and was left feeling happy and hopeful. wouldn't call it a comedy. definately worth watching. I thought it was pretty real.

Entertaining movie - interesting characters, good flow, excellent cast and script. Part drama, part comedy, part modern romance.

A hodgepodge of mildly interesting characters and a very cute little black kid didn't do much to make this anything more than an average romantic comedy. It's like they tried to make it quirky or edgy in some way, but failed. I didn't hate watching it, but I wouldn't have ever made it through left to my own devices. Not my kind of movie.
