"Wild" Bill Barnaby's dropped off the face of the earth and big sister Alex heads for Miami, Bill's last known sighting, on a harrowing hunt to save her brother ... and maybe the world. Alex blasts through the bars of South Beach and points her search south to Key West and Cuba, laying waste to Miami hit men, dodging Palmetto bugs big enough to eat her alive, and putting the pedal to the metal with NASCAR driver Sam Hooker. Engaged in a deadly race, Wild Bill's "borrowed" Hooker's sixty-five-foot Hatteras and sailed off into the sunset ... just when Hooker has plans for the boat. Hooker figures he'll attach himself to Alex

This main character is interesting. Her hook-up with the various characters is also interesting. The ending wasn't obvious for me. I enjoyed the book, yet her hook-up with the NASCAR guy early in the book seems awfully convenient. Too convenient. Whatever they need, he has the connections to make it happen. Like others have said, I prefer the Stephanie Plum bounty hunter series to this one.

Amusing read, but reminds me of a pallid imitation of the Stephanie Plum novels. The side kick is a Cuban version of Lula. I adore JE's Stephanie Plum novels, but her other series that she co-writes with other authors are insipid in comparison.

Like all Evanovich's books, fun and exciting. A great beach read!

This is the first time I have read Janet Evanovich. There was some moments that I found myself laughing out loud

This book is very bizarre... but surprisingly easy to read.
It's my first Janet Evanovich novel and I have to admit that I'm quite curious to see if any of her others are this bizarre/exciting.

It's basically a fun packed book about a girl who fixes engines (out to rescue her brother) and someone named Hooker (NASCAR guy).

For starters the names/nicknames of the characters in the book are a bit outrageous: Hooker, Puke Face, Slick and Gimpy (kinda like Ren and Stimpy), and Hooker has this entertaining habit of calling himself "NASCAR guy" and speaking about himself in the third person.

I didn't know what I was getting into when I started it, but I was overall pleasantly surprised. The best part of the book was that it wasn't raunchy! There were no unnecessary hot and heated sex scenes (yet it still has that verbal sparring, in a cute way)!

I don't like this as much as the bounty hunter series.
